Adding employee ownership was a big decision, but one that has paid dividends to our employee-owners and to our customers. The transition to an employee-owned company began January 1, 1998, when company founder, Larry Ryan, wanted to share the success of his company with his employees. He converted RYAN into an Employee Stock Ownership Program company. On July 26, 2019, RYAN Lawn and Tree became 100% employee-owned.
For Ryan Lawn & Tree, being an employee-owned company has resulted in great relationships that have been built with our customers by providing them with the best lawn and landscape services. The lawn and tree care company is proud to say we have nearly 500 full-time and part-time owners in the midwest, including locations in Kansas City, Springfield, Tulsa, Wichita, St. Louis, and Omaha.

RYAN Owner Since 2009
Ryan Westhoff serves as the Vice President of Kansas City Metro Operations. Ryan Westhoff has worked with Ryan Lawn and Tree since 2009. He served as a Turf Route Manager and spent the last several years as Assistant Turf Department Manager/Trainer in RYAN’s Kansas City Metro Turf Department.

Steve Allee | Customer Experience Representative
RYAN Owner Since 2019
Steve Allee serves as a Customer Experience Representative. He has been part of the Ryan team since 2019. Prior to joining Ryan Lawn & Tree, Steve has been a Director of International Sales & Marketing for Burke, Inc., a Regional Service Director for Kinetic Concepts, and a Franchisee with multiple stores for Burger King.
